Wiitendo Entertainment System
So my friend Paris finally got some better video games for her Wii, and all it took was me borrowing Judy’s credit card and her neighbor’s unsecured wireless connection. So far she’s got River City Ransom, Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, and 3, Bubble Bobble, the Legends of Kage and Zelda, and Metroid.
Okay, so all those games are from like the 1980s but playing them on the Wii lets you take advantage of all the amazing technological advancements that have come about since then. Like not having to blow in the cartridge or jiggle it around eleven or twenty different ways to get it to load.
Though I guess with the Wii’s motion sensing thing they could make a console-jiggling minigame in front of the actual game. And some DS games have “blow on the microphone” minigames. Maybe somebody could combine the two to make a real virtual console, that accurately recreates the experience of playing games on an original NES system? I don’t know. It seems like there might be a market for that, for nostalgia or whatever.
Whatever. I’m gonna go jiggle Judy’s handbag and see if I can’t shake loose any more games.

Nice read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch since I found it for him smile Therefore let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch! “We strain to renew our capacity for wonder, to shock ourselves into astonishment once again.” by Shana Alexander.
